SIGNING OF AN INVESTMENT AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE GOVERNMENT OF GABON AND PROMETAL

On 18 February 2025, an investment agreement was signed between the Gabonese government, represented by Mr Gilles NEMBE, Minister of Mines, Mr Mark Alexandre DOUMBA, Minister of the Economy and Investments, and Mr Lubin NTOUTOUME, Minister of Industry, and the PROMETAL Group, represented by its Managing Director, Mr Hayssam EL JAMMAL. Mr Ghislain MOANDZA MBOMA, Managing Director of ANPI-Gabon, was also present.

The project involves the acquisition of 10 to 14 hectares in the NKOK Special Industrial Zone, with an energy availability of 70 megawatts.

The company plans to invest 30 billion CFA francs in the 1st phase of the project, generating 500 direct jobs and as many indirect jobs. After the fifth year, an investment of 100 billion CFA francs is planned, creating a further thousand direct and indirect jobs.

The PROMETAL Group specialises in the steel industry and is represented in several African countries. It is the regional leader in the CEMAC zone. PROMETAL has proven experience in the implementation of structural projects.

This agreement follows the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the aforementioned group and the transitional government during the Gabon-France Economic Forum, an initiative of the President of the Republic, Head of State, Brigadier General Brice Clotaire OLIGUI NGUEMA, who gave firm instructions for the completion of this project. The project has received technical support from the ANPI-Gabon teams.
